MARIA DEITERS
Maria Deiters is an accomplished lighting professional with over a decade of combined experience in entertainment. A proud Journeyman of IATSE 476 and holds a bachelor of fine arts in the Art & Science of Cinematography from Columbia College Chicago.
Starting her career with designing & programming theatrical productions & dance recitals in high school; working as a cinematographer, gaffer, lighting programmer, and stagehand throughout college she graduated to a full time job as a lighting tech & programmer for Sound Investment AV based out of Chicago, IL. Post COVID shutdown, she began working as the lead lighting programmer for several union & non-union television and film productions. She then began to transition into more design freelance design work for theatrical productions, dance, live events, & various concerts & music festivals; Including Everwild Festival, Inspired Festival, House of Vans, Historic Ludlow Garage, Megacorp Pavilion, 7 time Academy of Country Music Award Winner for Venue of the Year- Joe's on Weed St., and many more.
As entertainment lighting & technology continues to evolve, there is an exciting merger of industries taking place between live & recorded media. With the knowledge and experience of working in both worlds, She strives to push the narrative that lighting can be designed to be beautiful for both the camera and a live audience.
